Details of Academic
Qualifications :
- Born on 21-04-1947 in
Mysore, had his primary and secondary education at Dalvoy’s School,
Mysore, during March 1962 passed out SSLC with high distinction. Studied
pre-university education at Yuvaraja’s College, Mysore and passed out in
distinction during March 1963.
- Joined engineering at
the National Insititute of Engineering, Mysore in 1963 and passed out of
the BE degree in Electrical Engineering in 1968 (in first class through
out from 1st year to final year).
- Joined Erstwhile Mysore
state electricity board during Feb. 1969 as a Junior engineer (Ele) and
Rose to the rank of Chief Engineer (Ele). During his tenure as CEE
served as General Manager (Tech) for KPTCL during 2003-2004.
- During the service
spanning more than 36 year served in all fields of transmission and
distribution of electricity, some of the salient achievements during the
services are:
- Designed and developed a
test bench for testing of meters in batchof twenty for high accuracy
during 1969-70.
- Constructed a portion of
220kv Mysore-Kerala line in H.D.Kote, kakanakote forest area up to
Bavali limits in Karnataka border during 1976-79.
- Prepared a scheme for
electrification of Koppa Taluk in Chikkamaglore District and monitored
its execution during 1977-99.
- Became the first
maintenance Assistant Executive Engineer in 220kv Hoody receiving
station Bangalore and involoved in commissioning of 2nd 100MVA power
transformer at Hoody during 1979-80.
- Served as a coordinator
for “Power and Telecom line co-ordination Committee” involving
Electricity Board, Telecom and Railway authorities and solved many
induction problems on telecom and railway communication and signal
circuits during 1982-86
- Served in O & M of
sub-division at Bangalore and Mysore and at a very important division at
Bangalore Instrumental in introducing consumer friendly measures such as
sowjanya counters and computerization of consumer accounts during 1986
to 1999.
- In the year 2002 in his
tenure as Superintending Engineer projects and Monitoring, served as
Chairman anti theft and was Instrumental in designing and execution of
the projects of regularization of unauthorized connections of
electricity all over Karnataka resulting in earning of a revinue
collection of Rs. 106 crores in Juse one month.
- During the tenure of SEE
P&M designed a Project of providing 24 Hrs of power supply to all other
consumers of rural area except irrigation pump sets for which 8Hrs of
P/S was given. The pilot projects is still in service at Nandagudi,
Bangalore.
- In addition to the above
activities he was closely associated with KEB Engineers Association.
During his tenure as General Secretary of KEBEA was responsible for
construction of Association own building at Bangalore consisting of 17
suits, Auditorium and other facility by raising funds from conducting
“Dr. Raj kumar’s Night” during Jan 1994.
- He was instrumental in
constructing a complex at Kadakola, Mysore for KEB Engineers
Association, Mysore by raising funds through organizing “Hamsalekha
Night” at Mysore during Feb-2004.
- After retirement from
KPTCL was appointed as consultant. HRD, CESC, during December 2005,
Working A Principal in KEBEA Institute of Training Kadakola, Mysore. The
Training has resulted in accident free working of CESC employees for
more than six months after completion of training
